The Council of National Ambassadors are well known for their contribution to a better Canada and for their life achievements.  The RCMP Heritage Centre is honoured to partner with the following individuals to help promote the Centre and share the story of the RCMP with the world.

The Honourable Allan Blakeney, P.C., O.C., Q.C., S.O.M.
The Honourable Allan Blakeney was the Premier of the Saskatchewan from 1971 to 1982.  As minister of health in the governments of Tommy Douglas and Woodrow S. Lloyd he played a crucial role in the introduction of Medicare. In 1992, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. In 2000, he was awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. In 2001, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Blakeney is also a past president of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.

Ms. Adrian Burns
Adrian Burns has dedicated her career to Canadian broadcasting and the arts, education, corporate and public governance, and community involvement.   Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Ms. Burns has a degree in Art History from the University of British Columbia, and did graduate work in archaeology and art history at the British Academy in Rome, Italy.

The Right Honourable C. Joseph Clark, P.C., C.C., A.O.E.
Born in High River, Alberta Charles Joseph "Joe" Clark was the sixteenth Prime Minister of Canada.  Clark first became active in politics at the university level. He served as President of the University of Alberta Young Progressive Conservatives.  Mr. Clark was first elected to Parliament in 1972 and throughout his career served as the Minister responsible for Constitutional Affairs, President of the Privy Council, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada (Acting), Minister of National Defense (Acting) and Secretary of State for External Affairs.

The Honourable Lynda Haverstock, C.M., S.O.M.
The Honourable Lynda Haverstock is the former leader of the Saskatchewan Liberal Party and was the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan from 2000 until 2006. Born and raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan Ms. Haverstock has a bachelor and master's degrees in education and a Ph.D in psychology. In 2007 Ms. Haverstock was appointed as the President & CEO of Tourism Saskatchewan. 

The Honourable Michael Harris
Mr. Harris was born in Toronto, Ontario and is a graduate of Laurentian University.  He entered provincial politics in 1981 and was elected the twenty-second Premier of Ontario in 1995.  He served as Premier until 2002 after which he became a member of the Fraser Institute.  Mr. Harris also serves as a Director of Magna International. 

Mr. Paul Hill
Mr. Paul Hill is the President & CEO of The Hill Companies and Harvard Developments.  Mr. Hill represents the third generation in the Hill family to join the company based in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Mr. Hill is a Director of such companies and organizations as Boardwalk Equities Inc., Crown Life Insurance Company, the CD Howe Institute and the Fraser Institute.

The Honourable Peter Lougheed, P.C., C.C., Q.C., A.O.E.
The Honourable E. Peter Lougheed served as Premier of Alberta from 1971 to 1985.  Mr. Lougheed is a member of the Privy Council of Canada and a Companion of the Order of Canada.   Mr. Lougheed also serves as one of the joint co-chairs of the North American Forum and is a member of the Trilateral Commission.  Mr. Lougheed is a director of a number of Canadian corporations, including Keyera Energy Management Ltd. and Quorum Funding Corporation. He also acts as a special advisor to a number of other Canadian corporations and the Government of the Northwest Territories. 

The Right Honourable Don Mazankowski  P.C., O.C., A.O.E.
Don Mazankowski was elected as a Member of Parliament in 1968 for Vegreville and served as a Cabinet Minister under two Prime Ministers and as Deputy Prime Minister from 1986 to 1993. Since retiring from politics in 1993, he continues to serve Alberta and Canada. He was Chair of the Premier's Advisory Council Report on Health Care (the Mazankowski Report), a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and is a Director for a number of Canadian corporations. In addition, Don Mazankowski was named to the Order of Canada in 2000 and the Alberta Order of Excellence in 2003.

The Honourable Frank McKenna, P.C., Q.C., O.N.B.
The Honourable Frank McKenna is currently Deputy Chair of TD Bank Financial Group.  Prior to this role, he was posted to Washington, D.C. and served as the Canadian Ambassador to the United States of America from 2005 to 2006.  Frank served as Premier of New Brunswick from 1987-1997 and his career has included participation as a member of the Saucier Committee on Corporate Governance and the Canadian Security Intelligence Review Committee.

The Honourable Anne McLellan, P.C.
The Honourable A. Anne McLellan is counsel at Bennett Jones, Barristers and Solicitors and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the University of Alberta in the Institute for US Policy Studies. Previously, she served as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre from 1993 to 2006. Between 2003 and 2006, she served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.  She is currently a Director of Nexen Inc. and Agrium Inc.

The Honourable Roy Romanow, P.C., O.C., Q.C., S.O.M.
The Honourable Roy Romanow was born, raised, and educated in Saskatoon. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan where he earned his Arts and Law Degrees. He was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in 1967. In 1991 Mr. Romanow won a majority government and assumed the duties of Premier.  In 2001 after retiring from politics, Mr. Romanow was appointed a Senior Fellow in Public Policy at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, and is also a visiting Fellow in the School of Policy Studies at Queen's University.

The Right Honourable John Turner, P.C., C.C., Q.C.
Mr. Turner is a Partner in the Toronto office of Miller Thomson LLP.  Mr. Turner is a director of several Canadian and U.S. public companies and is an authority on pension and corporate governance and liability.   He served in the House of Commons for almost 25 years and is the only person in Canadian history to represent three different provinces in the House of Commons; Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. During his tenure in Parliament he served in a number of portfolios including: Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Minister of Finance, Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition. Mr. Turner was appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1995.

Ms. Pamela Wallin, O.C., S.O.M.
Pamela Wallin is the Senior Advisor to the President of the Americas Society and the Council of the Americas in New York. In Canada, she serves on several corporate boards, including Bell Globemedia, Canada's premier multimedia company with ownership in CTV and the Globe and Mail; and on the board of Gluskin Sheff & Associates, an investment and wealth management firm. Pamela is a member of a special Advisory Board for BMO Harris Bank and recently completed four years as the Consul General of Canada in New York.
