Welcome

The RCMP Heritage Centre is owned and operated by The Mounted Police Heritage Centre, a non-profit organization.  It receives no ongoing operational funding from any levels of government and relies, in part, on the generosity of individuals and corporations from across Canada to ensure the story of the RCMP will be preserved for future generations.

All of our generous donors and supporters will be recognized through our annual report and website.  For donors giving gifts of $5,000 and greater the RCMP Heritage Centre will place your name on our donor wall located in the lobby of the Heritage Centre for a period of twenty years.

To make a gift to the Heritage Centre or for additional information, please contact:

In Memoriam
Memorial contributions are a comforting way to pay tribute to the memory of a friend, associate, or loved one who has passed away.  Contributions made in memory of individuals may be directed as you wish to either capital enhancement of the Heritage Centre or to its operations.  No matter where you choose to direct your gift, your contribution will have an immediate impact on shaping the future of the RCMP Heritage Centre.

Upon receipt of your gift, we'll send a card to the honouree's next of kin in acknowledgement of your special gift. (The amount of your gift will be kept strictly confidential unless otherwise specified).  When sending a memorial gift, please include the name of the honouree, as well as the name and address of the next of kin.

In Memoriam of RCMP Members and Employees
The RCMP Heritage Centre is honoured to pay tribute to all men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving as members and employees of the RCMP.

For donations of $1,000 or more made in the name of a RCMP member killed in the line of duty a tree at the Centre will be officially dedicated with a memorial plaque.

In Honour
An in honour donation made to the RCMP Heritage Centre is a meaningful and unique way to show your appreciation for a friend or loved one.  A gift to the RCMP Heritage Centre can be made to celebrate individual or group accomplishments such as: RCMP Graduations, RCMP Troop reunions, promotions, marriages, births or retirements.

Upon receipt of your gift, we'll send a card to the honouree or group in acknowledgement of your special gift. (The amount of your gift will be kept strictly confidential unless you specifically direct otherwise).  When sending an in honour gift, please include the name of the honouree, as well as their address.

Cheque, Credit Card and Cash Gifts
Gifts made by cheque and/or credit card are available for immediate use by the RCMP Heritage Centre allowing us to make immediate impact. Please make cheques and money orders payable to the RCMP Heritage Centre and please indicate where you would like to direct your gift. Credit card gifts may also be made by calling the RCMP Heritage Centre at (306) 522-7333, ext. 3013.

While cash gifts are always appreciated, please do not send cash in the mail. If you wish to make a cash gift please drop by the Heritage Centre where one of our staff will be happy to accept your gift and arrange for you to receive a receipt.

Monthly Giving Program
Monthly giving is a convenient way for you to support the RCMP Heritage Centre on an on-going basis.  It allows us to rely on your support from month to month and we are able to plan ahead knowing that your funds will be there to support our initiatives.

Publicly Traded Securities
Publicly traded securities include shares and bonds that are traded on Canadian and most U.S. stock exchanges.  Giving Publicly Traded Securities has several benefits to the donor: you will receive a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the donation; there is no tax payable on the capital gains as a result of a donation of publicly traded securities (whether the donation is made during your lifetime or by charitable bequest); if provided through a bequest, the donation will result in a tax credit which may be used to offset up to 100% of the taxable income on the terminal tax return.

Bequests and Wills
Through your estate you are able to leave some or all of your assets (including cash, property, investments or other assets) to the RCMP Heritage Centre.  By indicating your wishes in your will you are able to make a substantial future gift to the Centre which will have lasting impact.

If you have made or are planning to make a bequest to the Centre please let us know so we may recognize your generosity.

Donations of Gifts in Kind
The RCMP Heritage Centre will gladly accept gifts in kind that will support our operations, programming or other services.  Gifts in kind may include donations of goods, services or products. (e.g. computer equipment; on-air or print advertising) The RCMP Heritage Centre will be pleased to provide a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of any gift in kind that is accepted by the Heritage Centre.

Corporate Matching Gift Program
Many companies encourage their employees to contribute to charities by offering a "matching gift" program. This means the company will donate funds to match your contribution. This increases the value of your gift at no extra cost to you. Check with your employer to see if they have a matching gift program and if so, please inform them of your donation(s) to the RCMP Heritage Centre.

Donations of Potential Artifacts
One of the unique aspects of the RCMP Heritage Centre is the outstanding partnership our not-for-profit organization maintains with the RCMP. One critical element of this partnership is the role played by the RCMP Historical Collections Unit in the collection and stewardship of the RCMP's collection of artifacts, library and archives.

While the RCMP Heritage Centre is committed to ensuring an outstanding visitor experience, the continued growth and of the RCMP's collection remains the responsibility of the RCMP Historical Collections Unit.

It is the expressed policy of the Mounted Police Heritage Centre to refer all individuals wishing to donate items to the collection to the RCMP Historical Collections Unit, the members of which are solely responsible for final decisions regarding the disposition of the potential donation.

Please note that the decision regarding the disposition of any potential donation is solely that of the RCMP Historical Collections Unit and can not be appealed to the Mounted Police Heritage Centre for review, appeal or arbitration.  For further information please visit Gifting of Artifacts or contact:
