The RCMP Heritage Centre offers dynamic educational programming that caters to elementary and high school students of all ages. These hands-on programs were developed by employees with an education background and incorporate Saskatchewan Learning Curriculum outcomes. Programs can be adapted to your classroom's specific goals and ability levels, including linguistic approaches.
Pre-booking is required for all programs. Group education rates apply. Please contact RCMP Heritage Centre programming directly for more information.
RCMP Heritage Centre education programs include:
"A Pledge for Peace"
Appropriate for grades K - 12.
For 20 years Canada has deployed RCMP police officers to international peace missions around the world. In this program students will learn about the roles and responsibilities of Canadian peacekeepers, the impact peacekeepers have on the countries they visit and how these mission have impacted the men and women who carry them out. Students will explore what "peace" means in their own lives and how they can be "peacekeepers." Students will also have the chance to send a postcard to a peacekeeper stationed overseas. This program aligns with Curriculum Literacy Outcomes.
"Forensics 101"
Appropriate for grades K - 12.
Using forensic strategies, students will investigate a crime scene, gather evidence and crack the case. This program aligns with Curriculum Numerousy Outcomes.
"Our Treaties"
Appropriate for grades K - 12.
Students will investigate the relationship between First Nations & Métis people and the RCMP. They will learn about treaties and the involvement the RCMP had surrounding treaties. This program aligns with provincial Treaty Curriculum Outcomes.
"Outreach Program"
Appropriate for grades K - 12.
A program facilitator from the RCMP Heritage Centre will come to your classroom with a case full of interesting RCMP artifacts. Your students will discover the rich history and the modern day role of the force. This program is available to schools within 45 km of Regina City limits. This program aligns with Curriculum Literacy Outcomes.
"Money Talks"
Appropriate for grades 3 - 9.
Enter the world of counterfeiting and explore the science of currency. Come to the RCMP Heritage Centre and discover the many hidden features of Canadian bills. Delve into the problem of counterfeiting and learn to detect fake currency using the same methods utilized by the RCMP forensic labs every day.
"Policing Our Nation"
Appropriate for grades 4 - 12.
Supported by the RBC Foundation
Explore the RCMP of today in the location where all Mounties begin their career. Challenge your perceptions and learn the realities of modern policing before looking towards the law enforcement of the future.
"Northwest Campaign: Three sides of history"
Appropriate for grades 8 - 12.
Using an empathetic approach to history this program explores the motivations behind this famous conflict and how it can be used to discuss the importance of cultural understanding.
"Mini Musical Ride"
Appropriate for pre-K - grade 2.
Now recruiting riders! Join us at the Heritage Centre for a day of Mountie fun and become a part of RCMP history. Climb aboard your trusty steed and learn the maneuvers that have made the Musical Ride famous around the world. From building your own horse to donning the famous red serge, this program offers the authentic Mountie experience.
"Mini Marching Mounties"
Appropriate for grades K - 5.

Become a Mountie for the day! Experience authentic RCMP cadet training based on the current methods used by the RCMP ‘Depot' Division Academy. Shape up with your troop and learn some of the basics of Dismounted Cavalry Drill and have your "Graduation Picture" taken in real red serge!
"Supportive Environment Learning Program"
Appropriate for grades K - 12.
We've created a safe, constructive, interactive and fun environment for people with disability to gain an enhanced sense of social awareness and responsibility and to develop an understanding that interdependence impacts individual daily life. Participants will have an opportunity to apply controlled use of selected movement skills and variations as well as safe and environmentally friendly behaviours while participating in a variety of body management activities.
"Métis Program"
Appropriate for grades K - 12.
This program introduces students to Métis culture and how it links to the RCMP throughout history. The intent is to develop students' understanding that the arts are an important means of passing on various societies' cultural histories, and are also an integral aspect of living for all people.
